“I am concentrating on our first game of I-League and derby is not in my mind now. My target is to win the I League for the club,” the Japanese midfielder, who won the I-League with arch-rivals Mohun Bagan, said today.

“Although I have played for Mohun Bagan for the last four seasons I will give my best for East Bengal this season. It will take me three to four weeks to get to my full fitness and acclimatise with the team. We have a very experienced coach in Khalid Jamil and I have full confidence that we will reach the peak soon,” he added.

The I-League will run simultaneously with the Indian Super League from next month
