While the moustache twirling Maratha has dominated this season’s tally (114 raid points), his overall figure of 217 remains just shy of U Mumba captain Anup Kumar’s cumulative. In an exclusive chat with Sportskeeda upon the team’s return to the capital here, Adake played down not getting to eclipse the record, “It’s okay! I mean I could have gone for the last raid and not got 4 points too. It’s just a part of the game.”

Talking about the overall tournament, though, he seemed pleased with his performance and talked about his aspiration to become a regular with the national team, “It was indeed a brilliant season for me.

Especially the match against Telegu Titans (he scored a record 24 points), I showed what I am capable of; hopefully the national selectors will take notice and I can be a part of the next Asian Games squad.

Also, next season for PKL, there will be a fresh draft and I am hoping I will get picked by some really good team again," Adake said.

Needless to say, there are many subplots to the selection in the national team or for that matter a franchise in the revolutionary PKL, many of them which Kashi wouldn’t be able to control.

What is certain though is that the charismatic raider won’t listen to any of it but will instead keep on playing that same dominative game of in which, win or lose, he remains a brilliantly commanding presence.
